Project

For the main project in this course, my two group members, as well as myself, sought to create a food delivery web extension catered to those with visual impairments. We learned through our research, which consisted mostly of surfing the internet, that the very act of surfing the internet is very difficult for the visually-impaired community. We wanted to pick one specific thing people do on the internet and we went with ordering food.
We decided to go with a pizza delivery app specifically.  The main thing we wanted to do was make the extension as compatible with screen readers (a common tool used by the visually-impaired) as possible. Ways we did this was by including less text and images on each page. We initially implemented these concepts into our low-fidelity prototype. We wanted to test the time on task and task-success of this prototype. We had participants blindfold themselves and create an order with the moderator acting as a screen-reader. We had great time on task and full task success. Our high fidelity prototype consisted of wireframes with some added features.
