Graphic Design
The two graphic design courses were probably my favourite courses of my entire time at Laurier so far (check out the home page to see how much I love graphic design). Over the two courses we spent time creating different logos and icons with increasing difficulty. Below is a look at some of these projects.

UX Poster Project
For the final project of graphic design 2, we were tasked with designing a recruitment poster for the UX program at Laurier. The goal was to use everything we learned about typography, colour and vector art, whilst adhering to the Laurier branding guidelines to create a poster that would capture the interest of those who might be interested in joining this program. I decided to go with the idea of growing people into designers, using the image of a tree to portray that. To tie in with that idea, I included the tagline, "Growing Designers for Golden Opportunities" (yes, I realize there is a typo on the poster). My poster displays a person with a tree growing out of their mind, displaying how people in the UX program grow in their knowledge of what it means to be a UX designer. In the tree itself, I included icons of items which are involved in the design industry. The phone and email icons were included to convey the communication aspect of UX; the cursor, index finger, and wifi icons were included to convey the digital aspect of UX; the pencil and lightbulb icons were added to convey the ideation aspect of UX; finally, the wireframe and Adobe icons were included as those are commonly used items in UX. I used lines with higher weight in order to give the poster a cartoon, comic book style feel and to make the whole thing pop overall. This project was very enjoyable to work on overall. It was very satisfying to see the final product once it was finished.
